Competition hunt pythons in miami

MIAMI, - More than 1,000 people participated in the competition hunt Burmese pythons in the Florida Everglades park. In the competition held since January 12, so far only 30 python that was killed.

Animals and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Fish Florida, the United States, as quoted by AP news agency on Friday (01/25/2013), affirmed, competition to eliminate invasive pythons are not a lot of work.

Of the 1,000 participants, only 30 managed to hunt pythons. The competition will end in early February 2013. Officials of the commission emphasized that efforts to suppress the population of pythons from Everglades never achieve goals in the competition "Python Challenge" that took place during the month.

Therefore, they expect should be increased awareness regarding snake threat to life and so fragile natural ecosystems in the Everglades. Protection of the snake is governed states or the U.S. Government.

So far no one can tell how much the python population in the Everglades. Researcher says, bargain hunting helped gather more information about the natural habitat pythons.

Long Burmese pythons can reach 5.75 meters. Their average length of about 3 meters.
