Beef prices in Indonesia World's Most Expensive

JAKARTA, - price of beef in Indonesia today is the most expensive in the world. Domestic prices ranging from Rp 90,000 per kilogram, while in other countries only around Rp 40,000. The government was asked to intervene to stabilize the price of meat.
In fact it's been three months the price of meat would not go down. If this is allowed to continue, then approached the fasting and Eid meat prices could touch the level of Rp 120,000 per kilogram. It is beyond people's purchasing power.

Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the price of meat in the fourth week of January 2013 reached Rp 90,000 per kilogram. Price is survived since the first week of December 2012.

According to World Bank data, the price of beef on average in Indonesia in December 2012 reached 9.76 dollars, while only 4.3 U.S. dollars Malaysia, Thailand 4.2 U.S. dollars, Australia 4.2 U.S. dollars, Japan 3 , 9 U.S. dollars, German 4.3 dollars and 7.4 dollars India.

Deputy Trade Minister Bayu Krisnamurthi week in Jakarta said the high price of meat in the market indicates that supply is still stalled.
